Anthony Joshua's new trainer, Robert Garcia, 47, claimed the British fighter is the best heavyweight fighter in the world and called him "special."
The former super featherweight world champion has been recruited to help 32-year-old Joshua win back his IBF, WBA (super), IBO and WBO titles from 35-year-old Oleksandr Usyk after losing to the Ukrainian fighter in September 2021.
Garcia also described 33-year-old Tyson Fury, a long-term rival of Joshua's, as "a different monster", but no doubt that his new role has all the attributes to dominate the weight class.
Anthony Joshua has teamed up with Robert Garcia to win back his titles from Oleksandr Usyk.
Garcia told Little Giant Boxing: 'Tyson Fury is a different beast, a different monster. Very technical and challenging from Oleksandr Usyk.
'Deontay Wilder has tremendous power. But overall talent, for me, I pick Joshua.
'Another thing is that Anthony Joshua also has incredible power. He has excellent power, and I think more than anyone.
'Wilder, I've never felt his power. He's also one of those guys who has that power in one hit. But Joshua has it too, and it's solid.
Garcia called Tyson Fury, who has long been a rival to fellow Brit Joshua, "a different monster."
Although Garcia has been effusive in his praise for his new fighter, he faces a difficult task guiding him back to the top of the heavyweight division.
Usyk wholly outpointed Joshua in a unanimous points decision. In a fight, the Ukrainian landed more punches against the Briton than any of his previous opponents, landing 148.
But Garcia is convinced that Joshua's ability was evident from the first time he saw him, fighting as an amateur under the guidance of former trainer Robert McCracken, with whom Joshua won his Olympic gold medal.
