The war between George Kambosos and Devin Haney of words has led to their highly-anticipated lightweight championship unification fight at Marvel Stadium on Sunday.
After Kambosos tagged him a "rat" and an "informer" on Monday for providing the Australian with information about his latest opponent, and fellow American, Teofimo Lopez, Haney flipped the script and accused Kambosos of the same thing.
"If I'm a rat, weren't you training (Manny) Pacquiao for [his fight against Australian] Jeff Horn? That is different? You say I went against my countryman, but you went against your countryman," Haney said during their Fox Sports matchup at Marvel Stadium.
What he did and what Haney Kambosos explained the difference between the lead-up to Kambosos' fight with Lopez.
"You were messaging me personally on Twitter saying, 'Hey, look where (Lopez) is,'" Kambosos said.
"Jeff Horn knew precisely what he was doing, and he was training Manny Pacquaio. You go from behind (Lopez's back). Lopez has no idea what has happened. He waits for him to find out. When Lopez finds out now what happened, he'll be on your ass in Vegas, I'm telling you.
"That's a rat, that's a whistleblower, that's a snitch, that's the lowest of the low. I would never go against my countryman, and I would go behind his back and say, 'Hey, his wife, they're having problems. Oh, she's in the prostitute lounge. She checks this out.' Come on, man," she said.
"Of course, I will accept it (the information). When I'm fighting him (Lopez), I'm fighting him, the art of war: deception. But he was already planted. He was already there because he knew he would fight you (Haney) next."
Kambosos, the owner of WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and The Ring magazine lightweight titles, dismissed Haney's claim that Horn was angry with him for training with Pacquaio before their fight in Brisbane five years ago, which Horn won sensationally.
