Danny Ainge believes Nash is of the top twelve-point guards in the league right now, and Steve Nash is proving to be one of the steals of the 1996 NBA draft. Suns coach.
The problem is that Nash is after a couple of All-Stars However, Nash's role has increased now that KJ is sidelined until the All-Star break Jason Kidd and Kevin Johnson, and Nash has proven that Ainge's assessment may be correct.

"He's hands down the best shooter on our team," says KJ.
Although Nash has shown himself to be a tenacious defender, he still gets beaten too often by fast point guards. But he's an excellent ball-handler, passer, and outfield leader who isn't afraid to lead a team packed with veterans. However, his greatest strength may be his uncompromising attitude.
"We liked him (in the 1996 draft)," says Seattle coach George Karl. "We don't generally like small shooting guards, but we thought he could play into our system because of his toughness.
Nash makes good decisions in the open or half-court and has proven to be a good player without the ball. He doesn't mind putting up tough picks on the baseline, and he's played alongside Kidd in the role of a shooting guard, working with selections and hitting the catch-and-shoot jumper. Nash put to rest doubt about his scoring ability during the preseason when he scored 25 points in one half against Houston, finishing with 35 in that game.

"That little fool can play," says Ainge. "Everyone else is catching on now."
The question is no longer whether Nash can be one of the best point guards in the league; it is whether he can be a floor leader with the Suns.
