Gregor Townsend feels Luke Crosbie shows others how it's done after he named the Edinburgh flanker chief for Scotland A's match against Chile in Santiago on Saturday.
The 25-year-old will captain a group that incorporates experienced internationals like George Horne, Jamie Bhatti, Scott Cummings and Matt Fagerson, uncapped triplet Ben Muncaster, Ollie Smith and Matt Currie
Scarlets' Javan Sebastian is the leading player, not with Edinburgh and Glasgow. They will highlight for the Scots this end of the week, with the Gallagher Premiership players inaccessible until the following week's match against Argentina.
"Luke's a chief as a visual demonstration in the manner he prepares and how he plays," said Scotland lead trainer Townsend, explaining why he gave the Edinburgh man the captaincy. "He's exceptionally pleased to address Scotland and had captaincy experience at Edinburgh.
"A year prior, he was expected to be chief in our A game against England, which dropped. We respected him then, and we appreciate him now. He missed the Six Nations through injury; however, he's returned well. I thought he was one of the structure players towards the finish of the time."
Saturday down starts a South America visit that will see the senior Scotland group handling Argentina in a three-Test series one month from now.
Chile will involve the match as groundwork for their two-legged World Cup set-up to contend with the United States in July.
"I expect an elevated requirement, a standard that has got Chile extremely near being a World Cup group," said Townsend. "They have played Russia and Canada and beaten them while heading to the end-of-season game against the USA.
"They have many players engaged with the South American expert title. They'll areas of strength for be the scrum and the set-piece, extremely physical and forceful."
Scotland showed up in Santiago on Monday, and Townsend is satisfied with how they have settled.
"We've not exactly branched out our lodging since we arrived," he said. "Today (Thursday) is a three-day weekend. The players were on a mission to golf, driven by Zander Fagerson. There will be others going out for espresso.
"Truly, the preparation field and the pool is all we've seen. We had a pleasant visit to the UK diplomat the previous evening (Wednesday), and we caught wind of the Scottish connections to Chile, and the Chile group were there too. It was great to associate with others.
"It's an incredible city, Santiago. I've never been here, yet you have the Andes behind the scenes. We prepared at a school yesterday, and many children emerged from watching us train and get signatures off the players, so we're feeling extremely appreciated and favoured to be back on a visit once more."
Townsend invited the news that Scottish Rugby Union CEO Mark Dodson has expanded his agreement until 2025
"Imprint's been a major ally of the public group and the expert groups, and I've encountered both jobs with Glasgow and Scotland," he said.
"He's a major devotee that, assuming that the ace and public groups have achievement, streams down to different areas of Scottish rugby. He's been a major impetus for that significant outlook impact throughout recent years. I have a decent connection with Mark. We don't necessarily concur however we regard each other's perspectives. He needs accomplishment for every one of our groups, and he'll be driving that, I'm certain, for the following couple of years."
