As he recovers from the anterior cruciate ligament he tore on January 2, Cowboys receiver Michael Gallup participated in only a limited amount of the team's three practices last week. Before Wednesday, coach Mike McCarthy said he wanted to get Gallup to do "some group stuff."
Gallup's limited participation in the team's practice report makes it unclear whether that occurred.
The following players missed practice: left lineman Connor McGovern (ankle), defensive end Tarell Basham (thigh), safety Jayron Kearse (knee), and quarterback Dak Prescott (right thumb).
Gallup missed the season's first game due to edema, delaying his surgery until February 10. The Cowboys kept Gallup on the 53-player roster to begin the season because they anticipate him to return to the lineup within the first four weeks, even though he likely needs at least one more week to ramp up before returning to the field.
McCarthy said through Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, "He is doing great." "Hopefully, we can include Michael into practice a little more" (Wednesday). So perhaps go from solitary to group activities.
