Von Miller didn't take long to convince the Bills that signing him as a free agent this summer was the right decision.
The Rams carried the ball into their territory after the Bills took a 7-0 lead to start the game and appeared to be building some offensive momentum. By bull rushing past left tackle Joe Noteboom and sacking ex-teammate Matthew Stafford to help force a punt, Miller put an end to the drive.
In a 31-10 victory, it was the first of two sacks by Miller and the first of seven by the Bills. Miller and the defensive line were sufficient to overpower the Rams throughout the game, resulting in those sacks without the Bills needing to use the blitz.
According to Miller, quoted by Katherine Fitzgerald of the Buffalo News, "You can look in their eyes, and you could tell that everybody was hungry, and everybody wanted this game." "Everyone went out and took it one play at a time because they all expected success today, and here we are."
Buffalo hired Miller to improve the pass rush this year. Even though there is still a lot of football left this season, the debut was a success.
