    Fernando Alonso

Fernando Alonso (Alpine), double Formula One world champion, declared, with a view to the British Grand Prix, the tenth on the F1 calendar, which will be held this weekend at the Silverstone circuit, that he has "had a terrible good luck so far in 2022, but" that "there is still" and that they know that "the potential is there."

    Silverstone

"Silverstone is a classic race on the calendar. I've had a lot of podiums, poles, and wins there. It is a 'driver' circuit, and many times it grants good actions on the track", explained in the previous Alpine statement the Asturian double world champion, who achieved two of his 32 F1 victories in the aforementioned Northampshire circuit: in 2006, when he revalidated title, with Renault; and in 2011, aboard a Ferrari.

The final ninth place in Canada

"It's usually unpredictable, too, when it comes to time. Sometimes we have hot summer days and other times it rains heavily. The wind can be strong, too, on this circuit", explained Alonso, 40, who two Sundays crossed the Montreal finish line seventh - where he started second after exhibiting himself, in the rain, in qualifying -, but a penalty it relegated him to the final ninth place in Canada.
