Jessie Bates revisited the Bengals' facilities
Safety On Tuesday morning, Jessie Bates revisited the Bengals' facilities, and he soon signed a contract extension with the organization for a further season.
Bates' franchise tender was signed
Bates' franchise tender was signed, according to the Bengals. Bates did not participate in any of the team's summer programs or training camp, so he has some catching up to do before the Bengals take on the Steelers in the first game of the regular season. He is now guaranteed $12.91 million for the 2022 campaign.
Bates was granted a two-week roster exemption by the Bengals. Thus he won't be considered a part of their active squad. The squad had to make two changes to reach the 80-man cap by Tuesday afternoon.
Drew Plitt, the quarterback, was released, while Brandon Wilson, the safety, was added to the reserve/PUP list. As a result of the decision, Wilson will not be qualified to participate in the season's first four games.
