Vikings 20-16 last season
The Cowboys defeated the Vikings 20-16 last season when backup quarterback Cooper Rush was forced into action.
Rush passed for 325 yards and two touchdowns in that game before returning to the bench as Dak Prescott made his way off the sidelines due to a calf injury. Rush is given another chance to start; this time, it should go better because Prescott will be out for a while after undergoing surgery on his thumb.
Rush said he and the squad are "focused on this game," and he feels confident that they will be able to do their business against the Bengals, even though the run may be longer.
Rush's teammates are apparent
"I believe the teammates are more important. According to Rush, who Todd Archer of ESPN.com quoted, "all you do every day is try to win their respect." "The best course of action is to go out there on a Sunday. Play well and go. They have my admiration. They appear to regard me. I believe our group is vital. We seem to be prepared to go.
The respect of Rush's teammates is apparent. The Cowboys, who are trying to right the ship after losing in Week One, could use a repeat of last year's success as wide receiver CeeDee Lamb said he "can't wait for my man to go out there and show out."
