Early in free agency, the Steelers addressed offensive line needs by recruiting Mason Cole and James Daniels to participate on the inside this season.
However, they didn't even sign or select any tackles. Therefore Dan Moore will probably begin at left tackle another this season.
Moore started 16 games for the Steelers, who have made no efforts to replace him, implying that they believe his play will continue to improve. Moore expressed his gratitude for the vote of confidence last week.
"I do," Moore replied, "but you have to keep working simultaneously," according to Chris Adamski of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "I came in and won a position, but anyone could easily do that, so I need to keep working."
After re-signing the correct tackle Chuks Okorafor in March, the Steelers will maintain consistency on the edges while reconstructing the line in the middle.
