Boston Celtics
I'm hoping this injury isn't as serious as it appeared to be. Early reports are encouraging.
Danilo Gallinari, a forward for the Boston Celtics, hurt his knee Saturday while representing Italy against Georgia in a World Cup qualifying match.
The MRI will be performed on Sunday, but according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the initial reports from the Italian locker room are positive.
Hope it's not something serious.
Celtics was Gallinari
One of the two significant free-agent additions for the Celtics was Gallinari (along with Malcolm Brogdon). A 6'10" forward with good spacing skills, he brings depth to a team that can use him off the bench during the regular season to limit Al Horford and Jayson Tatum's playing time. Last year, he shot 38.1% from outside the arc, which is right at his career average. Gallinari is good offensively but a liability defensively, making him an innings eater for Boston during the regular season but a less important player during the postseason.
Hopefully, he can play that role for Boston this season with his knee not significantly hurt.
