Runback for the Texans According to the district attorney's announcement today, Darius Anderson is no longer facing criminal charges in Houston.
Today, the burglary-related felony charges against Anderson were withdrawn. The district attorney's office declared that there wasn't enough proof to proceed with the prosecution.
Anderson was emphatic that he had not done what he was accused of, according to Texans coach Lovie Smith, and the Texans waited for the investigation to continue before passing judgment.
Naturally, when it happened, I contacted him, and he informed me that the accusations needed to be withdrawn because it didn't happen that way. Usually, when something like that occurs, we let the system take its course. Smith stated this morning, "I'm delighted it got to that."
The Texans' practice squad invited Anderson to join its practice squad a year ago. Although he has previously played for the Cowboys and Colts, he has never participated in a regular-season game.
