The LeBron James Lakers are his team
This is why LeBron is worth every dollar of the $97.1 million contract he signed with the Lakers this summer, both on the court and at the box office for the business. Check out what the new Lakers coach Darvin Ham told Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com on the extension instead of taking my word for it.
Darvin Ham told Clutch
Darvin Ham told ClutchPoints in an exclusive interview, "It's massive, man. It's enormous. LeBron is a player who comes along only once. Only so many players are available. Even not that many. Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Dr J, Moses Malone, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, Shaquille O'Neal, and Kobe Bryant have all played before, and now it's LeBron's turn.
The player is a once-in-a-lifetime kind who will be listed with the greats and referred to as THE greatest, continued Ham. "The challenges he faced after graduating from high school and the struggles he overcame. All of his tests were passed with flying colours.
Nobody is debating
Another example of LeBron's excellence is that nobody is debating whether he will be an All-NBA calibre player for the Lakers as he enters his 37th season. Los Angeles is debating whether Anthony Davis can serve as the team's starting centre for the full season, whether Russell Westbrook fits the role, and whether they have enough depth. LeBron's excellence is a given.
As outstanding as he is on the court, the Lakers' business needs him more. LeBron attracts viewers to television broadcasts, fills Crypto.com Arena, is the person team sponsors pay to have their name near, and generates revenue. He earns $44.5 million this season under the salary cap before the agreement takes effect, but the Lakers' company and brand value him far more than that.
Ham is correct
Ham is correct; LeBron's re-signing is very important for the Lakers. They merely need to respond to all the other queries at this point.
