After the first 32 selections of the 2022 NFL Draft, the second round and third round arrive today starting at 7:00 p.m., Eastern time, where teams and fans leave behind the great reflectors to culminate the work of an excellent armed for franchises.
Almost always, the first 32 players chosen are the ones in everyone’s sights, the ones with the most pressure, and yes, the surrounding ones that the franchise looks for the talent to put together a bright future.
The players that will be chosen to start today are what will give each team the right balance. Perhaps they will not be the big names that will appear on the marquees as the main actors, but their secondary role is more critical than those chosen on Thursday.
Lots of talent for all teams
The talent is plenty, and for this second and third round, the arrivals of more quarterbacks to the league are expected. In the first round, the passer Kenny Pickett was the only quarterback chosen and was called by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
For today the talents of players like QB Malik Willis, LB Nakobe Dean, and CB Andrew Booth Jr. could be an excellent complement to the first selections of each of the NFL teams.
Yesterday’s topic was quarterbacks, but little has been said about the six receivers who made it to the NFL, and nothing about running backs: zero running backs were chosen in the first draft round!
Breece Hall, running back from Iowa State, seems to be the best and most versatile of them all and could be among the top picks this Friday. Another who could leave soon is Liberty quarterback Malik Willis. A passer who, for some, was better qualified than Pickett with good field vision, good touch on long passes, and extraordinary skills when it comes to running the ball.
These are the top 10 prospects for the second and third rounds of the 2022 NFL Draft:
Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State
Malik Willis, QB, Liberty
Andrew Booth Jr., CB, Clemson
Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia
Christian Watson, WR, North Dakota State
Boye Mafe, LB, Minn.
Kenneth Walker III, RB, Michigan State
David Ojabo, LB, Michigan
George Wickens, WR, Georgia
Arnold Ebiketie, DE, Penn State
