Duane Brown
Even though veteran left tackle Duane Brown didn't sign with the Jets until the middle of August, he doesn't believe it will be difficult for him to get in football shape.
The team's website quotes Brown as saying
Over the past two days, Brown participated in his first two practices, and the second was a combined workout with the Giants that allowed him to train against a different defense. He'll receive more in the preseason matchup between the two tenants of MetLife Stadium on Sunday, and on Thursday, he told reporters that he feels like he's "on a good track." The team's website quotes Brown as saying, "You can run and exercise all you want, but it's not the same as trying to move a guy against his will. "It's just a necessary element of conditioning; the past two days have been excellent, and the coming week will be crucial. My body has muscle memory from all the playing I've done. It won't require much time. Since I've been playing for a while, I don't have to kill myself to make it to Week 1 like I did the year before when I skipped camp entirely and had to start the season rusty. I completed many reps today, have Sunday off, and will train the following week again.
Brown joined the Jets
Brown joined the Jets after Mekhi Becton suffered a knee injury that ended his season. Still, given his background with the Seahawks, he may be an improvement over the offensive line the Jets would have had if everything had gone according to plan.
