U.S. Soccer has announced that Christian Pulisic will miss the USMNT's match against Japan due to injury.

The 24-year-old Pulisic was expected to play a crucial role (as usual) for the USMNT in their final two friendlies before the World Cup begins in November.
But after Pulisic was omitted from the starting lineup for the exhibition match against Japan in Düsseldorf, Germany, U.S. Soccer issued a statement.
It has since been confirmed that Pulisic was sidelined as a precaution after picking up a knock during practise earlier this week.
Remarks regarding Pulisic
Christian Pulisic was injured during training earlier this week, thus he is not on the squad for today. His readiness to play against Saudi Arabia on September 27 in Murcia, Spain, will be monitored on a day-to-day basis, according to U.S. Soccer.
Therefore, Pulisic might not play against Saudi Arabia either.
Gregg Berhalter, who will have wanted his best starting lineup together for these final two friendlies, will not be pleased with this development.
This isn't the best possible practice with Zack Steffen, Yunus Musah, Antonee Robinson, Chris Richards, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Tim Weah, and now Pulisic all suffering injuries.
However, it does offer other people opportunities.
Most recent update
Before the game, Berhalter told ESPN's Jon Champion and Taylor Twellman that if Pulisic suffered an injury during the World Cup, he would be patched up and allowed to play. So, it's not really that serious.
"He was injured while training. It is preventative, the club told us after our conversation," stated Berhalter. He is doing well and should play against Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
In fewer than 60 days, the World Cup will begin, and Pulisic and all USMNT supporters will be praying that the Chelsea winger won't be negatively impacted by this minor matter.
However, his continuous injury problems worry USMNT supporters since he just can't seem to remain healthy for too long.
