The Eagles took care of business on Monday Night Football by overwhelming the Vikings.
Philadelphia established an early 15:08 lead of 14-0 and never looked back, winning 24-7 easily. The Vikings dropped to 1-1 while the Eagles improved to 2-0.
While Minnesota only managed to gain 264 yards, 71 came in extra time; the home team gained 486 yards.
Jalen Hurts, the quarterback for the Eagles, carried the ball 11 times for 57 yards and two touchdowns, scoring from three and twenty-six yards. Twenty-six of his 31 throws were completed for 333 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
On a 53-yard pass, Quez Watkins made the touchdown catch
DeVonta Smith had seven grabs for 80 yards, and Dallas Goedert had five receptions for 82 yards. Watkins and A.J. Brown each got 69 yards in receiving.
Darius Slay, an Eagles cornerback, shone on defense by containing Justin Jefferson. He intercepted two Kirk Cousins throws meant for Jefferson in the end zone. Slay also had five pass breakups in addition to one tackle.
In the end, Jefferson had six catches for 48 yards
27 of 46 for 221 yards, one score, and three interceptions from Cousins. He received two firings. In his career, Cousins has a 2-10 record on Monday Night Football.
