In advance of the Colts' regular-season debut, Quenton Nelson has surpassed all other offensive guards in terms of pay.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Colts and Nelson have agreed on a four-year, $80 million extension, which includes $60 million in guarantees.
Joe Thuney had the highest guaranteed salary at $46.89 million before Brandon Scherff, who previously had the highest average salary among guards at $16.5 million.
Nelson's fifth-year option was set to pay him $13.75 million in 2022
He has played in four Pro Bowls in as many seasons, and the 2017 season marked the first time he failed to make the All-Pro team due to a four-game injury absence.
