Due to an elbow problem that finally required an anti-inflammatory injection, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford did not throw over the summer.
He has been tossing around camp. On Saturday, he was questioned about it after using it for a week.
Stafford told reporters, "It's progressing. I think I'm about where I want to be, and I'm just getting better and better. Strengthen it. These reps disappear throughout the offseason, and [I'm] currently attempting to regain some of them.
Managing the urgency that results from those lost repetitions in the offseason program with conserving the arm is the problem. According to head coach Sean McVay, Stafford and the other quarterbacks won't be throwing on Sunday.
According to McVay, tomorrow will be a "de-loaded day." "We'll essentially jog through. We primarily operate in four-day blocks where we work two days straight, take a day off [after that], and then build things back up again. It will be more of a mental approach for us as tomorrow, the third day of the four-day block, approaches. Like what you saw on television ads
Fortunately, Stafford's progress so far has been good. The difficulty will be maintaining it for the remainder of the preseason, a 17-game preseason, and beyond.
