The WBA lightweight world champion, the American Gervonta "Tank" Davis, will be exposing his title before his mandatory challenger and undefeated No. 1 in the ranking, his compatriot Rolando Romero, in the main event this Saturday, May 28, at the Barclays Center, in Brooklyn, New York.
The fight, part of the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) series, will be televised on Showtime PPV.
GERVONTA DAVIS
"This is not only this time we have prepared for 'Rolly.' We watched as she choked when the lights hit her in the face. We will see how he reacts to him when everyone cheers for him on the game."
We'll see what this guy brings on fight time, brighter lights. I walk through the door when the time comes and becomes the man. Come to fight night; it's time to step up."
"He only cares about power; he's not working on anything else. His only plan was to take me out. I hit him with, and I'm going to rip his nose off. They keep talking about knockouts and trying to get me out of there early because they know it can't last into the future."
ROLAND ROMERO
He will say a lot about my legacy when he knocks him out. 'Tank' takes a lot of hits. I think he is going to find something big."
"I have always been underestimated. On May 28, you will see my ring IQ. He is the best fighter at 135 pounds, and he would be the best if he were at 130 pounds. I don't care, though. I know what I'm capable of."
"Gervonta keeps talking about his abilities, but I see that his face swells up after every fight he has. He bullies smaller opponents. He is not so special. We are ending his little reign, and he can retire."
"Ending up on the canvas, Gervonta Davis knocked out. That is what I can guarantee."
In the same function, the Cuban champion Erislandy Lara will defend his World Boxing Association (WBA) middleweight title against the forceful Irishman, Gary "Spike" O'Sullivan.
