The NBA is back, but star basketball is yet to come. The current champions, Golden State Warriors, have uncorked the preseason this afternoon with a game without fireworks against the Washington Wizards in Saitama, Japan.
In the final pavilion where the Olympic Games were played, those from San Francisco stretched themselves in the face of defending the crown with a victory (96-87) without squeezing their figures and giving shine to their secondary.
Klay Thompson
Stephen Curry only played 13 minutes, the same as Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson didn't even jump onto the parquet. Considering his injury history, Kerr confirmed that the shooting guard would not participate in the Japanese tour as a precaution.
James Wiseman
Instead of the legendary Big-Three, James Wiseman claimed the spotlight.
The center, whose torn meniscus in his right knee left him sidelined for a year and a half, presented his candidacy to enter the rotation this season with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Stephen Curry
The public, realizing that the magician Curry would not offer any function, began encouraging his compatriot, who scored 13 points and nine rebounds.
Golden State controlled the game from the start, and both teams clarified that nothing was at stake. A festival was expected from the perimeter with Curry starting and defenses somewhat relaxed.
Kerr's men commanded with trim (41-37 at the break), but their rival did not demand a more significant effort either.
The last NBA and MVP final
The Wizards hit just one 3-pointer in 20 attempts in the first half, while the Warriors went three-for-17. His only field goal and four turnovers. The last NBA and MVP final did not return, nor did Green.
After the break, Hachimura came out with two more gears than the rest and put his team in a dispute.
But some Warriors to the train ran. They started the locomotive and struck a 10-0 run that cooled the reaction of the people from the capital, who did not squeeze their figures either, except for the Japanese, the only ones who reached 25 minutes on the track.
Rushing, without they closed a victory that does not serve to measure the potential of the team, but that is what the preseason is for, the real show began on October 18.
