British Grand Prix
The weekend of the British Grand Prix arrives, one of the most memorable events on the Formula 1 calendar. Not in vain, in this setting, Silverstone, the first official round of the championship, was held in 1950, and in this England, the motor world is a true religion for its inhabitants. These are the times you should know, so you don't miss the race on TV or on the internet.
Last championship race
Although the last championship race to date took place almost two weeks ago, the talk of Formula 1 has not stopped in recent days... and not for pleasant reasons. On the one hand, last week, Red Bull announced the dismissal of its test driver, Juri Vips, for making a racist comment on the Twitch social network.
A few days later, a similar event came to light, but this time three-time world champion Nelson Piquet and Lewis Hamilton were the protagonists. In an interview last year, the Brazilian called Hamilton "Seguin," which has caused an enormous stir as this is a racist comment ... although Piquet has assured that this was not his intention.
Max Verstappen
In sports, Max Verstappen arrives at Silverstone as the favorite. The Dutch driver has won in six of the nine races this season and has a 46-point lead over Sergio Perez at the head of the 2022 F1 Drivers' World Championship. The best Ferrari in the standings is Charles Leclerc, third to 49 points from Max.
Ferrari's reliability problems and the supremacy of Red Bull have given wings to the reigning world champion, who now seems impossible if reliability also respects his car. Last year, at Silverstone, he had an accident with Hamilton, and in 2022 he promises to take revenge by achieving victory.
Verstappen Carlos Carlos
Precisely against Verstappen, Carlos Sainz fought until the last lap of the Canadian Grand Prix a few days ago. The Spaniard completed his best race of the season and fell just a few tenths shy of his first win, but Verstappen clung to the top spot tooth and nail.
Sainz will try to continue with the good feeling in Montreal to show again that he has the speed and race pace to be at the top, despite his difficult start to the season. The Madrid native is now fifth in the championship, behind George Russell, the most consistent driver of the season: he has finished in the top five in every race in 2022.
