Gary Harris was finally mostly healthy.
In Orlando last year, Gary Harris was finally mostly healthy. After missing a combined 39 games in each of the previous two seasons due to injury, he participated in 61 games last season, averaging 11.1 points per contest and posting a solid 57.1 true shooting percentage. It's the reason the Magic agreed to a two-year deal with the 3&D guard during the previous offseason (the second season is not guaranteed).
The meniscus in Harris' left knee
All of which only serves to make this new story worse: The meniscus in Harris' left knee has been torn, according to a report by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski (and confirmed by Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel).
Harris will most likely need surgery
Harris will most likely need surgery, but the location and severity of the tear will determine how long he will be out of commission. Harris' absence might last for several months or perhaps longer.
Magic roster
One of the few veterans on the Magic roster who the organization is prepared to deal with in exchange for fresh draught picks or young players to aid in their rebuild is Harris (Terrence Ross is also on that list, along with possibly Mo Bamba). Teams will now stop pursuing Harris until they learn more about the timing of his return.
