Egyptian international striker Mohamed Salah signed a new "long-term" contract with Liverpool, the English club announced on Friday. The news was celebrated by coach Jürgen Klopp, who assured us that "Mo's best years are yet to come."
The 30-year-old Egyptian, who has scored 156 goals in 254 appearances for the 'Reds,' had just talked about an eventual renewal that had dragged on for months due to the salary demanded by the Egyptian star.
According to local media, his new contract would run until 2025 and guarantee him payments of 350,000 pounds weekly (more than 405,000 euros / about 423,000 dollars).
"It is the best decision for him and us. It is part of the club's history now", continued the German coach: "I have no doubts about the fact that Mo's best years are yet to come, And that's no small thing because the first five seasons were legendary!"
