USC and UCLA
Like it or not, college football is moving toward the superconference model.
How many will be when this round of realignment is over. The Big 10 added USC and UCLA on June 30, corresponding to adding Texas and Oklahoma in 2021, adding SEC.
How about speculation to led have moves power these conferences will lead to realignment and what could happen when they are realigned. Make the last move in the immediate future. The realignment never ends if college football has taught us anything over the past 30 years.
European Super League
SN described what a college soccer Super League would look like in 2021 when rumours of a 15-team European Super League surfaced. The group stage, and NFL World Cup, Champions League teams have 32 teams. Perhaps college football follows a similar model that combines these events and puts the top thirty-two teams in the same conference.
Alabama, Texas, Penn State, and USC
Regular-season matchups would be off the charts. Imagine a capsule that included Alabama, Texas, Penn State, and USC. This would ensure the best competition in the field, with programs built to compete in the NIL.
The tradition of regional rivalries is gone.
That would mean Power 5 conferences would be gone, and more than half of the schools now considered P5 would be too, and that's not going to happen any time soon. This also means that only 24.4% of the 131 FBS teams compete for a national championship. It isn't easy to sell this to the whole country.
Probably not. You are simply asking the conferences to give away too much power.
