Julia Landauer will race in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for the first time on July 16 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in the USA.
Landauer will be driving for Tommy Joe Martins, the team's general manager.
She raced in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West in 2016 and 2017 and finished fifth in the 2020 NASCAR Euro Series. In the NASCAR Pinty's Series, she was the first woman to lead a lap.
Landauer, 30, stated in a statement provided by the team, "I'm incredibly delighted to be racing at this level with Tommy Joe Martins and Alpha Prime Racing. She will be sponsored by Boss Beauties and Garage XYZ, an auto club, and is a New York native.
In a team release, Martins stated,
"We've been trying to get Julia in our race vehicle all year." I've thought she deserved this chance since her days in a NASCAR West car.
Natalie Decker is the most recent female to compete in the Xfinity Series. This season, she has only competed in one race. Last year, she also competed in five series events. Since 2019, Decker has been the series' lone female competitor.
