Jalen Pitre
Many young players now have the opportunity to play because the Texans have spent the last two seasons changing up their roster.
Press conference after the game.
Jalen Pitre, a second-round pick, is likely to play a significant part in the club in 2022, along with several other rookies. When he tackled running back Trey Sermon for a loss on a fourth down against the 49ers on Thursday night, the safety produced one of the game's most important defensive plays.
Pitre has been making plays all summer, and head coach Lovie Smith expressed excitement to see him play in the regular season during a press conference after the game.
According to Smith
What stands out, according to Smith, is when you're producing a bunch of large flash plays. "Jalen has remained reliable throughout. He is an intelligent athlete. In terms of learning, he has been a sponge. He will, however, be close to the ball. Since OTAs, we have observed this. When Indy comes to town, I'm looking forward to moving with him and having him line up for us.
Derek Stingley Jr.
The Texans will be hoping that cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. and the tandem develop into a cornerstone for their defense in the future. Stingley was selected in the first round.
