The Cardinals have reacted to reports that James Saxon, the running backs coach, was detained in May and accused of domestic assault in Indiana.
Kliff Kingsbury, the head coach of the Cardinals, announced to the media during a news conference that Saxon had been given administrative leave. Saxon is accused of two offenses, including felony counts of abusing a lady in front of a minor.
After being detained, Saxon posted bond, and a restraining order was given. Additionally, a GPS tracking device was mandated for him to wear, but according to Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com, he removed it this month despite the state's objections.
Don Shumpert, an offensive assistant, and Kenny Bell, the head of staff and an offensive coach, will fill Saxon's position.
According to the statement, we are aware of the event and have informed the NFL as necessary. The situation is presently being looked into following league regulations. James has been paid administrative leave after a discussion with the league office. Without new developments, we won't be making any more comments.
