Linebacker Jamie Collins, a free agent, frequently visits New England
Collins, who has played with the Patriots on three different occasions, paid a free agent visit on Tuesday. It increases the likelihood that he will now sign for a fourth time, even though there has been no indication of the degree of interest between the two parties.
The Patriots selected the 32-year-old Collins in the second round of the draught in 2013, and he played for New England until 2016 when he was moved to the Browns in the middle of the season. He became one of the highest-paid linebackers in football thanks to the Browns, but because he didn't perform as well in Cleveland as he had in New England, he was cut after the 2018 campaign.
Degree of interest between the two parties
Collins later agreed to a one-year contract with New England in 2019, where he performed admirably and won himself another expensive deal, this time with Detroit in 2020. Collins, however, once again fell short of expectations and was let go early in the 2021 campaign. He later re-signed with the Patriots, where he played out the season.
Collins has been a free agent since March and has attracted some interest from other clubs, but he has always played at his best for the Patriots, so he may soon return to them.
