Lineman Jason Peters
Deal completed. But it's not a full-fledged deal for a roster place.
The Cowboys have reportedly signed lineman Jason Peters to their practice squad, according to Todd Archer of ESPN.com.
After skipping training camp, this enables Peters, 40, to ease into work, Archer tweeted.

It also allows the Cowboys to avoid owing Peters his full salary for 2022 under the concept of termination pay. He would have been entitled to receive his entire compensation if he had been released if he had been on the Week One active roster and the team had decided things weren't working out.
The action also reminds us that rookie Tyler Smith, who will start at left tackle in Week One instead of the injured Tyron Smith, is only 21 years old.
When Peters was a member of the Eagles four years ago, he described the Cowboys' organization as "arrogant." (But don't smear.) Before the Sunday night game against the Eagles in Philadelphia next month, we'll hear what Peters says about the team.
