DARLANDON, S.C. Joey Logano won the pole position for Sunday's Southern 500 by turning a lap of 168.521 mph on Saturday.
The playoffs, which start with Sunday's 367-lap race on the 1.366-mile track, have Logano as the second seed.

Chase Elliott, the top seed into the playoffs, is known by Joey Logano's creative nickname. Chase qualified 23rd. Daniel Suarez will get the ball at the back of the field after failing inspection three times.
