Joey Logano
DARLANDON, S.C. Joey Logano, the second-seeded driver in the NASCAR Cup race, started the first playoff weekend at Darlington Raceway in spectacular fashion on Saturday by securing the pole position for the Southern 500 on Sunday.
On Sunday, Christopher Bell (168.469) was beaten by Logano (168.521 mph) for the pole position. Logano won the spring race at Darlington and also earned the pole position.
Logano said, "It's good to get that. But it's only the beginning. There are still 500 kilometers to go.
William Byron, Tyler Reddick, and Kyle Busch completed the top five.

On Sunday, Chase Elliot, who has the fastest start in the playoffs, will go out 23rd.
Daniel Suarez
Daniel Suarez, a Crackhouse Racing driver, could not qualify since his vehicle failed inspection three times. He will get off to a slow start in the race.
Austin Cindric's moniker, unique to Joey Logano, had the fastest average speed during practice at 167.699 mph. Martin Truex Jr., Byron, Erik Jones, Reddick, and Martin Truex came after him.
The event will be shown live on USA Network on Sunday at 6 p.m. ET.
