The second race of the first round of the Cup championship is being held at Kansas Speedway after a dramatic playoff opener at Darlington that confused the standings.
Daniel Suarez currently holds the last transfer spot for the second round. He holds a two-point advantage over Austin Cindric, four over Austin Dillon, ten over Chase Briscoe, and thirteen over Kevin Harvick.
Even though Chase Elliott won the regular-season championship, he came in last at Darlington. He fell from first to eighth in the points as a result. Cindric is 14 points behind him.

Coach Bill Self of the University of Kansas men's basketball team will issue the order at 3:08 pm. At 3:18 pm, the green flag is expected to fly.
The cup garage opens at noon for the pre-race. The 2:30 pm driver introductions are scheduled. At 3 pm, Donnelly College president Monsignor Stuart Swetland will offer the invocation. At 3:02 pm, Whiteman Air Force Base Staff Sergeant Alexander Ross will sing the national anthem.
On the 1.5-mile speedway, the event is 267 laps long, or 400.5 miles.
TV/Radio: At 3 pm, USA Network will air the race… USA Network will start airing Countdown to Green at 2:00 pm. USA Network will air the post-race program. At 2 pm, Motor Racing Network will begin airing coverage, and mrn.com will also webcast it. The MRN broadcast will be carried on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
Outlook: According to wunderground.com, the race will begin under bright skies with a high of 72 degrees and wind gusts of up to 11 mph. Rain has no possibility of occurring.
Kurt Busch defeated Kyle Larson with nine laps remaining to win the May race. Larson came in second place. The third position went to Kyle Busch.
