Giants' final preseason game on
Sunday
In the Giants' final preseason game on Sunday, they were without offensive starters Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley, and Andrew Thomas, but wide receiver Kenny Golladay was in the lineup.
Golladay was targeted on one pass but failed to make a catch.
Before leaving the game, Golladay was targeted on one pass but failed to make a catch. Golladay played because all of the team's healthy receivers showed up for the game — Sterling Shepard, Kadarius Toney, and C.J. Board didn't — according to head coach Brian Daboll after the Jet's defeat. Still, his appearance on the field raised the possibility that the team might release the receiver before the start of the regular season.
Beyond stating that he plans to discuss all the wideouts with General Manager Joe Schoen, Daboll said nothing regarding the prospect of Golladay leaving the team.

"All those receivers are vying for my attention. As quoted by Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com, Daboll remarked, "Joe and I will relax and speak about anything.
Schoen's predecessor
Golladay had a disastrous first season with the team after Schoen's predecessor Dave Gettleman gave him a four-year, $72 million contract. Cutting him wouldn't help the Giants' finances because his $17.5 million salary for the 2022 season is fully guaranteed, and he'd leave a lot of dead money on the cap. Given the size of his contract, a trade doesn't appear likely. Thus Golladay should have another year to improve his performance with the NFC East team.
