Lonzo Ball's
Despite some optimism around Lonzo Ball's lengthy rehabilitation from meniscus surgery in January, it appears he won't be ready for the season.

According to ESPN's Jamal Collier and Ramona Shelburne, Ball is anticipated to miss the Bulls' training camp and the beginning of the season.
Training camp
Due to ongoing stiffness and discomfort from meniscus surgery on his left knee in January, Bulls guard Lonzo Ball is expected to miss training camp and is questionable for the start of the regular season, sources told ESPN on Friday.
Trying to play basketball
Ball underwent arthroscopic surgery on Jan. 28. Despite a source stating that his knee is fundamentally good, he continued to endure pain while trying to play basketball as he spent the summer recovering in Los Angeles.
On the Bulls Talk Podcast, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago lately sounded more upbeat.
"I'm not claiming that indicates he will appear on opening night. I'm not claiming that he plays all 82. I'm trying to imply that the skepticism predominated during the offseason has shifted slightly toward the optimism side.
Surgery in January
Before a knee problem forced him to have meniscus surgery in January, Ball played an important defensive role for the Bulls to open the previous campaign and assisted the club in transition. It was hoped that Ball would return in time for the playoffs at the time, but he still experiences pain whenever he increases his basketball activity. There is no cure despite his visits to team doctors and second opinions.
Chicago is considerably better when Ball and Alex Caruso are playing together on the court, but fans might have to wait a while for it to happen again.
