It's rare for the head coach to quit.
Last year, Dennis Allen filled in for a Sunday night game scheduled with the Buccaneers. And the Saints beat Tom Brady and his teammates, 9-0.
Allen turned around a defence that had disintegrated the post-bounty gate. For statements still not sure, Dennis Allen never received some of the real recognition for a second opportunity as a head coach, succeeding in a journey of duty with the Raiders. Fortunately for the saints, he was available to pick up the stick from Payton. but, most of the time, the rest of the team stays the same with no changes. This is exactly the same as what the Saints will be doing in 2022.
Sean Payton arrived in 2006 but he is gone now. But fortunately, everyone else is back.
A man who has information about a thing or two of the saints, thanks to his long stay there (with a round of the Ravens along the way) is rushing back Mark Ingram. By the website of the team, Mark Ingram currently detailed about the condition of the team, with Payton leaving - and got a job with Dennis Allen, the defensive coordinator.
Mark Ingram said, "I think it was enormous, keeping the DNA the same." "It is not like there is a complete reconstruction here. I understand you have a team that can that has the potential of making a lot of noise and runs on it. Of course, we have to perform better and receive enhancement and gather as a unit. It would happen, but I think the DNA of the team, keeping the culture of the team the same, I think it is enormous and I think we will all take advantage of it.
"Of course, D.A. is dissimilar from Sean. But D.A. has done a massive work of only trying to keep it as normal as possible and connecting his own type of taste to it. I think the Defense is more accustomed to it, "As they spent a lot of time with him in defense meetings. Sometimes we only saw him when he had to fill in. But I really like him."
Mark Ingram said, "I think he is performing a massive job with the team. He is showing a great performance at team meetings. He has been doing a great job with us there and he is informing us to get our work done. Be effective, let's be productive, let's enhance, let's perform work, let's create a sense of urgency." "He will be taking care of us and take us off the ground. I think he has performed fabulous work. Only having the same DNA, the same team culture. I think it would be beneficial for all of them in the locker room."
And Mark Ingram is correct. Saints can create a lot of noise. Last year, they nearly made the playoffs, despite much of injuries and a Monday night COVID collapse against the Dolphins, which added an effort to receive Drew Brees to unretire and Payton going into the locker room before the game begins and seeing many players in uniform whom he was unable to recognize.
In 2022, the Saints should be widely recognized, although Payton will not be there. The main question is whether they would be as competitive without him.
