On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Rams announced the extension of the contract of receiver Cooper Kupp, MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the last Super Bowl, ensuring the continuity of another critical piece of the NFL champions.
Kupp, who had two more years left on his contract in Los Angeles, extended his commitment for three more seasons through 2026, the American Football League (NFL) franchise detailed on its website.
The receiver agreed to a salary of $80 million for those three seasons, of which $75 million is guaranteed, making him one of the highest-paid players at his position, according to ESPN.
Kupp, 28, established himself among the NFL's elite last season as the fourth player since 1970
league in receiving yards (1,947), catches (145), and touchdowns scored (16).
The receiver capped off his spectacular campaign by scoring two touchdowns in the 23-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in the last Super Bowl, held at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, home of the Rams.
This same week the Californian team had already ensured the continuity of Aaron Donald, another of the pillars of the second ring in its history.
In that deal, the Rams enhanced the mighty defensive tackle's earnings for the next three years, making him the first NFL player, outside of quarterbacks, to earn more than $30 million per season.
