The Jaguars have added a new prospect to their search for a dependable kicker.
Jake Verity is off waivers.
On Friday, Jacksonville revealed that it had claimed Jake Verity off waivers. Verity was fired by the Colts earlier this week.
At East Carolina
Verity signed a futures contract with Indianapolis after the season, but he spent 2021 on Baltimore's practice squad. He has made field goals on six of seven attempts during the past two preseasons, four of which were made from at least 40 yards away. At East Carolina, where he played college basketball, he concluded as the team's all-time leading scorer.

Before the start of the regular season, the Jaguars have gone through several kickers. James McCourt was most recently hired this week after Ryan Santoso was released.
Jacksonville also disclosed the release of defender Grant Morgan and quarterback Jake Luton from the team. On Tuesday, Luton had just been renewed.
