RB Leipzig's French striker, Christopher Nkunku, is the best player in the Bundesliga, according to a survey conducted by professional players from the league itself, thus unseating Pole Robert Lewandowski (Bayern).
Nkunku, 24, has scored 20 goals and provided 15 assists this season in the Bundesliga, participating in 35 goals in 34 games. His performance has made him surpass Robert Lewandowski in the eyes of the German league players, who have bet on him in the survey organized by Kicker magazine, in which the Frenchman has received 42.5 per cent of the votes.
Lewandowski, who had been voted the best twice, received 11 per cent less than Nkunku in what could be his last season at Bayern after he has declared that he does not want to continue at the Bavarian club.
In the category of the best player in the world, the Bundesliga footballers have chosen Karim Benzema. He has obtained 44.9 per cent of the votes. After a fantastic year for the Frenchman, he has won the League and the Champions League with Real Madrid.
Cologne manager Steffen Baumgart has been named the best coach in the Bundesliga, while German Jurgen Klopp, who has won two titles with Liverpool this season, has been named the best manager in the world.
