Golden Boot 2022-2023
Who goes first in the fight for the 2022-2023 Golden Boot? Don't miss out on the race to be Europe's top scorer and succeed Robert Lewandowski, winner of the last two seasons.
2022-2023 European Golden Shoe
The 2022-2023 European Golden Shoe race is on, with the continent's top scorers as we also do with the 2022 Ballon d'Or predictions. The new FC Barcelona striker, Robert Lewandowski, won the award for the second consecutive season.
The Polish striker scored 35 goals to say goodbye to Bayern Munich in style, beating other great European scorers such as Kylian Mbappe (28), Ciro Immobile, and Karim Benzema (27). Already at Can Barça,
Lewandowski will try to get his third Golden Boot award and stand out in a list of winners dominated by Leo Messi (6) and Cristiano Ronaldo (4).
However, the competition will be fierce in the presence of other great strikers from Serie A like Dusan Vlahovic or the Premier League like Harry Kane, Mohamed Salah, or perhaps this year's big favorite: Erling Haaland.
In addition, you must always keep in mind possible surprises or the emergence of players 'unknown' to the general public from minor leagues.
Golden Boot 2022-2023: Who tops the ranking?
The two top scorers in the Bundesliga in recent years have left Germany this past transfer market in search of new challenges. Along with the winner of the last two editions, Erling Haaland stands as the great favorite to win the 2022-2023 Golden Boot.
The Norwegian striker has fitted in perfectly at Manchester City and is starring in a stratospheric start to the season, leading us to predict that he could break many records.
Premier League performance makes the 'citizen' team a favorite for the Champions League.
Not in vain; eight league games have been enough for him to get his third hat-trick in the Premier League performance making the 'citizen' team a favorite for the Champions League. Still, the season is long, and the great scorers of the Old Continent will try to overshadow the overwhelming start of the 'cyborg.' What will be his final goal tally? Will any First Division representative return to the top of the table? Follow the race for the Golden Boot and how its classification evolves.

Other data and records of the Golden Boot that you should know in your predictions
Lionel Messi also holds the record for goals and points in a season. In 2011-2012 he scored 50 goals and added 100 points.
Cristiano Ronaldo is the closest to overcoming it, with 48 goals and 96 points, the last time he won was more than six years ago.
CR7 is one of only four players to have won the title with different clubs. The others are the Uruguayans Luis Suárez, Diego Forlán, and the Brazilian Mario Jardel.
Robert Lewandowski became the first Bundesliga player to win the trophy last season since Gerd Müller won it twice with Bayern Munich.
Ciro Immobile became the third Italian to become a Golden Boot, scoring 36 goals for Lazio in Serie A, taking over from Luca Toni and Francesco Totti.
Ligue 1 has known no other winner apart from Josip Skoblar in 1971, a statistic that the likes of Messi and Mbappe hope to change soon.
What are the rules and scoring of the European Golden Boot?
To win the European Golden Boot, you only have the goals scored by each player in their respective domestic leagues, bearing in mind that not all goals count the same.
The five elite European leagues (Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, and Ligue 1) have 2 points per goal scoring, which means that a player will receive two points for every goal they score in these competitions.
In the case of the leagues located between the sixth and the twenty-first position of the UEFA coefficient classification, which include the Portuguese Primeira Liga, the Dutch Eredivisie, and the Russian Premier, among others, the goals scored add up to 1.5 points. In contrast, those achieved in a league outside these first twenty-one competitions only add one point per goal.
From 1967 until 1991, the Golden Boot award was given to the continent's top goalscorer, regardless of league strength.
The Golden Boot was established in 1967 by France Football, the body that managed it until 1991 when Adidas delivered it in 1996. However, in the 1996-1997 season, the European Sports Media took over the trophy, establishing a new scoring system. Since then, only three players outside the top five leagues have won the Golden Boot: Nikos Machias (1997-1998), Henrik Larsson (2000-2001), and Mario Jardel (1998-1999 and 2001-2002).
Although it is not a common circumstance, the Golden Boot trophy has ended in a tie three times, having to share the honors throughout history.
The first was in 1990, with 38 goals scored by Hugo Sánchez (Real Madrid) and Hristo Stoichkov (CSKA Sofía); the second took place in 2015, with the lowest mark to date, the 25 goals scored by Thierry Henry.
