THE CITY OF NOTTINGHAM, ENGLAND — After quitting her game with a "freak injury" to her left side, U.S. Open winner Emma Raducanu has "no idea" if she'll be prepared for Wimbledon in just under three weeks.
Raducanu was losing 4-3 in her Nottingham Open opening against Victoria Golubic when she decided to stop playing.
"I guess I pulled something, but I'm not sure what occurred," Raducanu, ranked 11th, said, describing the ailment as an "extreme freak accident."
Wimbledon hosts the next Triple Crown competition on June 27.
"I am unable to diagnose myself." "I'll have it looked out," the British player, who is 19 years old, stated.
Raducanu made it to the fourth round of Wimbledon on her first Grand Slam major arcane well over a year ago. She conquered the U.S. Open at Flushing Meadows but has yet to go beyond the first round of the Australian Open or Roland Garros in 2022.
