It's no secret that the Utah Jazz is in full rebuild mode now that Donovan Mitchell is in Cleveland and Rudy Gobert has moved to Minnesota. It's more of an "everything must go" clearance sale of veterans like Bojan Bogdanovic, Mike Conley, and Jordan Clarkson in Salt Lake City rather than a true fire sale.
According to Brett Siegel of Sports Illustrated, Clarkson is the group member attracting the greatest interest.
Rudy Gobert's
Following Rudy Gobert's departure earlier this offseason, sources told Fastbreak that the Memphis Grizzlies, Milwaukee Bucks, Sacramento Kings, and Toronto Raptors were among the teams with an initial interest in Clarkson.
Curiosity about Clarkson
It is easiest to integrate Clarkson into a new team because of his role as the sixth man scorer off the bench, which is the most clearly defined of the players the Jazz have available. Although Clarkson is a prolific scorer, he can create his own shots, and when he does, he adds value worthy of the Sixth Man of the Year award (he was not that efficient last season). Due to his defensive issues, his value drops during the postseason.
What else is generating the most curiosity about Clarkson? With a $13.3 million salary and a $14.3 million player option for the next season, he is the Jazz player with the lowest salary of the players they are trying to trade.
NBC Sports
League sources informed NBC Sports that the Jazz has been fielding calls regarding every player they have available, but no trade looks imminent. The Lakers are reportedly interested in Bogdanovic, but it would be challenging for them to match his $19.6 million contract (unless you get into a multi-player deal that sends out Russell Westbrook, but then the Lakers would need to move both of their tradable first-round picks, and they have been hesitant to do so in any deal that does not move them to contender status this season).
Expect Danny Ainge and the Jazz to make transactions before or during training camp until the trade deadline. Clarkson might be the first relocated because Utah is not done trading.
