The NBA has welcomed back Matthew Dellavedova.
After trying out for teams in Las Vegas during the Summer League and playing for Melbourne United during the previous season, the Kings chose to bring Dellavedova back to the United States.
According to Michael Scotto of Hoopshype, this one-year contract is only partially guaranteed and is for the veteran minimum ($2.6 million).
Dellavedova, who will be 32 before the start of the upcoming season, has played in eight NBA seasons, with his greatest ones coming in Cleveland during the second LeBron James period while playing for Mike Brown, the coach of the current Kings.
A healthy Matthew Dellavedova, who played in just 13 games his past NBA season,
might aid the Kings with his stout defense and tenacious play. Despite this, it won't be simple for him to enter court.
The Kings will alternate Malik Monk, Kevin Huerter, and Terence Davis at the two while starting De'Aaron Fox at the point with Davion Mitchell serving as his backup (before being replaced by Matthew Dellavedova).
But given that the Kings' objectives are to make the postseason and break their 16-year playoff drought, employing that third point guard position on the roster makes sense. Having a player who can contribute offensively and is not simply there to grow might be beneficial throughout the arduous 82-game NBA season.
