After the National Bank Open ends on Sunday, Williams is expected to play in Mason, Ohio, a Cincinnati suburb, at the Western & Southern Open, which runs Aug. 13-21. The tournament told Twitter that it was an "honor to be a small part of" Williams' career.
Williams is expected to play out of Cincinnati with a protected classification that has yet to be determined. The tournament, which has online tickets, will feature several formidable players, including Iga Swiatek, the No. 1 ranked women's player, and Emma Raducanu, the reigning US Open champion.
National Bank Championships in Granby
After the Western & Southern Open, there are two more tournaments before the US Open: Tennis in the Land in Cleveland and the National Bank Championships in Granby, Quebec. Player rosters for the tournaments, which will run simultaneously from August 21-27, have not yet been released, and it was unclear if Williams will play in any of them.
