Smoke Monday, a cornerback for the Saints, said he would miss his whole rookie season after sustaining what was described as a severe knee injury during practice this week.
Monday acknowledged on Instagram that he had torn his ACL but expressed optimism that he would recover well.
Firstly, I want to thank the Saints organization for allowing me of a lifetime to come here and demonstrate my spiritual skill," Monday wrote.
To clarify any confusion, here's what's up with my knee. Even though I tore my ACL and will miss the season, I want to let everyone know that I'm doing well and am in good spirits, even though I will shortly undergo surgery. It is my goal to improve my health and gain a deeper understanding of the system during this time.
You asked how I was doing, and I very much appreciate it. I will be ten times stronger when I come back. Clearly, I'm among God's hardest workers, so I join him exclusively in the hardest battles.
Even though no undrafted rookie is guaranteed a roster place, Monday received acclaim throughout the offseason and in the first few weeks of training camp, giving him a good opportunity. He will now try to get fit to join the roster in 2023.
