New York Jets
New York Jets' Zach Wilson left Friday night's preseason opener against the Philadelphia Eagles with an apparent leg injury.
Wilson
Wilson seemed to injure his right leg after escaping pressure late in the first quarter. The second-year quarterback appeared on the field after coming out of the pocket and attempted to pass Eagles linebacker Nakobe Dean before falling to the ground.
Wilson left the game with a noticeable limp, but the non-contact aspect of his injury should be of concern to the Jets.
The Jets drafted Wilson No. 2 overall in 2021. New York went 3-10 under Wilson during his rookie campaign. Wilson ended the year throwing for 2,334 yards, nine touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in 13 starts.
If Wilson is out for an extended time, the Jets will turn to veteran Joe Flacco to take over under center.
Robert Saleh
Earlier this month, Flacco and head coach Robert Saleh agreed that the Bowl XLVII MVP could start.
