FIFA confirmed the 16 host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup from a live New York studio broadcast.
Fox Sports' Rob Stone, Alexi Lalas, Stu Holden and Jenny Taft joined Telemundo's Andres Cantor and Ana Jurka. At the same time, the honour of revealing the venues fell to FIFA President Gianni Infantino, the president of Concacaf, Victor Montagliani, and musical artist Becky G.
The 48-team tournament will be split between Canada, Mexico and the United States - this is the first time that three host countries have been designated - and the host cities will be as follows:
Atlanta, Boston, Mexico City, Dallas, Philadelphia, Guadalajara, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, Monterrey, New York/New Jersey, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, and Vancouver.
2026 FIFA WORLD CUP™ HOST CITIES ANNOUNCED
The United States last hosted the FIFA World Cup in 1994. Mexico has held the honour twice before, in 1970 and 1986. At the same time, it will be Canada's first Men's FIFA World Cup, having hosted the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2015.
Alexi Lalas represented the United States 96 times and started for his country in 1994. As part of the Sports broadcast team, he talked about how 2026 could have the same impact.
Representing their respective countries, the American Christian Pulisic, the Mexican Hirving Lozano and the Canadian Jonathan Osorio attended the confirmation of the 2026 venues. Pulisic, with 51 games and 21 goals for his country, congratulated the chosen venues since, from now on, the preparations for the world event began.
