Rosters have 53 players
The lowest places will churn and churn and churn some more now that all rosters have 53 players.
Jaguars on Saturday
Ty Summers, a linebacker, was released by the Jaguars on Saturday. After being released by the Packers on August 28, he was most recently grabbed off waivers by the Jaguars.
Games throughout three seasons
The Packers selected Summers in the seventh round of the 2019 draught. The 26-year-old participated in 46 of the 49 regular-season games throughout three seasons and made one defensive start.
He will now resume waivers. He will become a free agent and be able to sign with any team or practice squad if he is not claimed.
Teams perpetually tinker with their rosters
Someone else would lose a slot if he found a new place to live. So forth. So forth. In the NFL, it's an unfortunate fact of life. Teams perpetually tinker with their rosters, cutting, waiving, signing, re-signing, and re-waiving players.
Many of them persevere, which is to their credit. They continue to try. They never stop looking for a location where they may stay and contribute. Even if that means being prepared to uproot their lives at any moment to seize the next chance, remaining put for however brief a time it may be.
