RECIFE, Brazil: USA Basketball returned from the AmeriCup with some hardware.
In the bronze-medal game on Sunday, the United States came back to defeat Canada 84-80 behind the 18-point performance of Gary Clark.
The Americans turned a 63-56 deficit into an 82-73 lead during 7 minutes of the fourth quarter by going on a 26-10 run.

The United States won a medal at AmeriCup, the FIBA Americas region's tournament, for the ninth time in its last 11 appearances. The Americans have seven gold medals, one silver, and one bronze to their credit.
In its 19th appearance at the competition, Canada was going for its seventh medal.
During the late push by the Americans, Jodie Meeks, an NBA champion who played for seven teams throughout his ten-year career, may have scored his final three points as a competitive player. With 3:31 remaining, Meeks was fouled on a 3-point attempt and made all three free throws to give the United States a 71-71 tie. This was his only point of the game.
Meeks intends to retire
Meeks intends to retire and start a career as a coach. With 1:43 remaining, Clark's layup gave the Americans the decisive lead, and his teammates presented him with a medal.
Clark said it's undoubtedly been a learning experience for our boys. The weather is pleasant. Although we've enjoyed our time here, I believe most of the guys were disappointed that they couldn't swim in the ocean due to sharks.

Kadre Gray and Jahvon Henry-Blair each got 15 points for Canada, while Abu Kigab scored 18.
Zylan Cheatham scored 16 points for the Americans, Craig Sword contributed 11, while Norris Cole had the most assists with eight.
Even though it wasn't a more well-known competition like the Olympics or World Cup, the United States team of G League and players with international bases thought it was important to return home with medals.
