    Sophia Smith scored a second-half brace, and the United States women's team thrashed Colombia 3-0 on Saturday to extend their unbeaten streak to 68 games.

    Taylor Kornieck, who made his national team debut, scored the other late.

     CONCACAF W Championship, the World Cup qualifying tournament, next month in Monterrey, Mexico.

    They were crowned in the last two World Cups of the US team.

    Smith opened the scoring in the 54th minute with a pass from Rose Lavelle. He got the second goal at 60.


    National Women's Soccer League


    Smith, who plays for the Portland Thorns in the National Women's Soccer League, has six goals for the national team.

    The goalkeeper Catalina Perez covered two penalties. She stopped Lindsey Horan's attempt late in the first half and saved Lavelle's shot in the 70th.
